We had a toddler dealing with extreme separation anxiety at night. It led to us having to sleep on the floor next to his crib for four very long and seemingly hopeless months. Every method we tried to get him to sleep on his own had failed and ended up adding to his anxiety. We asked our pediatrician what to do, and his answer was Ellanee! On a sleepless night many months ago, the Almighty Instagram Algorithm bestowed upon me the gift of Ellanee Wilson.
My 3.5 year old’s relationship with sleep has always been horrible. My daughter is wickedly intelligent, independent as they come, and ferociously stubborn. All traits that will serve her quite well in this lifetime, but also makes toddlerhood exceptionally hard.
My daughter hates sleep. So she doesn’t. Since infancy she’d struggle with multiple middle or the night wake ups, and as she got older it only intensified. Middle of the night screaming and tantruming had become our norm. Just when we thought we had sleep all
figured out my toddler decided to start training for the Olympics (in the crib vault category). i had a really bad 4 month sleep regression with my newborn… like i was not sleeping more than 45min-1hr at a time. it lasted for weeks because bad habits crept up as we were so desperate… we started a pacifier, i started to nurse to sleep, then i started to contact nap then we were bedsharing and then i was up rocking and holding my baby for weeeeeeks which turned to months. i was following ellanee for a while and purchased her baby sleep guide and started to implement some better sleep habits so i could feel like a normal human being again. and honestly, it was a game changer… i could finally put my baby down in his crib and he would put himself to sleep. this guide is easy to follow and the sample schedules work so well for us… i still refer back to this when there’s a blip in my baby’s sleep!
